Microsoft is getting into the AI search game with a new feature called Bing generative search. Think of it like Google’s AI Overviews, but for Bing.
It uses AI to summarize information from the web and give you a quick answer to your questions.
Bing will give you a summary of the genre, along with links to where it found the information. You can even choose to see the traditional search results instead if you prefer.
Microsoft says this new feature will help you find what you’re looking for faster, but there are some concerns. AI-powered search can sometimes get things wrong, and there are worries that it could hurt websites by taking away clicks.
Microsoft says they’re working to make sure this doesn’t happen, but they haven’t released any data to prove it yet.
For now, only a small group of people can try out Bing generative search, but Microsoft plans to make it available to everyone soon.
