Figure 02’s speech recognition and output system uses built-in microphones and speakers with custom AI models for seamless human interaction.
Its visual system relies on six RGB cameras controlled by a Vision Language Model (VLM), enabling quick and intuitive visual reasoning.
The robot’s “4th gen hands” offer 16 degrees of freedom and human-comparable force, while its torso houses a custom battery with a 2.25 kWh capacity, boasting over 50% more energy density than before. The computing power has also tripled, enhancing its AI inference capabilities.
Figure AI has recently secured $675 million in a financing round, valuing the company at $2.6 billion. They’ve partnered with OpenAI to develop next-gen AI models for humanoid robots, signaling a promising future for robotic advancements.
